| After Graduation
Careers with young children may include working directly with children
or working with families. In the Early Childhood Education program, emphasis
is placed in the areas of working directly with children such as in day
care, nursery schools, Head Start, and family day care homes.
Certifications
A student who successfully completes the two-year curriculum is eligible
to apply for the Ohio Pre-Kindergarten associate License. Ohio law does
not currently mandate that an individual be licensed in order to be employed
in private child care programs.
Employment
Students graduating from the program may be employed as aides or lead
teachers in the classroom, administrators/directors of preschool programs,
parent coordinators, or family day care providers.
