Health Information Management
Health information management combines a profession in health care with information technology.  Health information technicians maintain, collect, and analyze data crucial to the delivery of quality patient care.  The HIM program offers individuals the opportunity to pursue a business-related career that is an essential part of the health care industry.

The Health Information Management Program covers a wide range of topics including health information management, medical terminology, computer applications, medical billing/coding, healthcare statistics, healthcare reimbursement, continuous quality improvement, and resource management.

Students who graduate from an accredited associate degree program are eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician certification.  Zane State College is currently pursuing accreditation of the Health Information Management program through the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
