| Admissions Requirements - Pathways to Engineering
The Pathways to Engineering program selects students once a year to begin in the pre-fall session. To be considered for admission, a student must meet these minimum prerequisites:
- 2.75 GPA overall
- “B” or better in Algebra I
- “C” minimum in all academic subjects
- Junior standing
- 90% attendance rate at high school
- Completion of at least two years of credit in English, math, and science (no credit deficiencies)
- Must place in college-level coursework (based on Accuplacer assessment)
- Must provide own transportation
Application Materials:
- Mid-East Career and Technology Centers application including high school transcript
- Zane State College application
- Two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from an educator)
- Essay – Describe why you are interested in this program and in the engineering field. The essary must be between 500 and 750 words and must be typed and double-spaced.
** Submit all items to your high school guidance counselor. For the 2007-2008 school year, the first round of selections will occur in mid-May. Apply early!
Accuplacer
The Accuplacer is a computerized placement assessment that provides information about each student’s level of skill in writing, reading, arithmetic, and algebra. Any student interested in the PTE program must place into college-level courses.
Appointments are necessary to take the Accuplacer.
