VISION of the Zane State College Academic Assessment Team
Academic Assessment at Zane State College will be a coherent, sustainable and overarching system for planning, developing and implementing strategies and practices that measure student learning. Academic Assessment will encourage academic programs, learning support services and administrative services to use assessment results to stimulate reflective thinking and conversation that will contribute to the continuous improvement of student learning.
MISSION of the Zane State College Academic Assessment Team
The Zane State College Academic Assessment Team, composed of representatives from each academic division, supported by the Vice President of Academic Services and Work Force Development, recommends, facilitates and supports policies, processes and practices used by the College for assessing student learning. The Academic Assessment Team is a resource for faculty and staff who undertake assessment initiatives. In collaboration with academic divisions, assessment methodologies are developed and specific requirements of content, form and timing are established to measure student learning. Assessment data will be used to inform and implement changes leading to improved student learning.
Academic Assessment Team - Roles and Responsibilities
The purpose of the Academic Assessment Team(AAT) is to provide:
- Professional development for faculty on assessment topics.
- Maintenance of resource materials for academic assessment.
- Systematic guidelines and support for the academic programs in assessment planning, implementation and reporting of findings.
- Mentoring to faculty in developing and implementing assessment programs.
- Feedback on assessment plans and reports.
AAT is chaired by the Academic Assessment Coordinator.
Members of AAT will represent the academic areas of Zane State College.
Members of AAT are appointed by their respective Academic Deans/Vice-President of Academic Services and Workforce Development
