Parents Corner

Welcome Parents!

Parents often play a significant role in guiding and encouraging students through their college experience. We hope the information on this site is helpful when you speak to your student about their college plans, summer job or entry-level job plans.

Our services include: on-campus recruiting, job fairs, career assessment, cutting edge research tools in our office and on the Internet, workshops on resume writing, job interviewing, and the job search process, and individual attention through one-on-one sessions with a trained Career Advisor.

We welcome you to explore other parts of this site which will familiarize you with career opportunities for Zane State programs.

Research has clearly shown that students who obtain work experience while in school are enriched by that process, identify a career direction more quickly, and have an easier time obtaining employment upon graduation. Zane State Career & Employment Services encourages parents to help us develop internships, and part-time and full-time jobs by providing us with contact information (names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.) for those individuals who make hiring decisions at your place of employment.  Zane State also provides the JobNet, an on-line job board where employers can conveniently post employment opportunities.

We are happy to have the opportunity to work with your child and are committed to helping them achieve their educational, professional and social goals.

The Career and Employment Services Office has assembled a list of helpful websites and related articles for your perusal. Please contact Career & Employment Services when we may be of assistance to you or your child.
