COM 091 – READING AND STUDY SKILLS
(4 credit hours – 3 lecture 2 lab – G)

Strategies for taking notes, comprehending text-books, improving memory, and taking tests are demonstrated and applied. Vocabulary study and a required novel further develop comprehension skills. The rapid reading techniques of skimming and scanning are practiced. Critical reading and thinking skills are developed.

Prerequisite: C or better in COM 090 when placed in COM 090 by assessment testing.
