Employment Training Center
The Employment Training Center operates in partnership with the Guernsey County Department of Job and Family Services and the Opportunity Center to provide youth and adult students with the skills necessary to secure and retain employment. Educational and career goals are explored to allow for lifelong self-sufficiency.
Services at the Employment Training Center vary based on client needs, but the philosophy of personal attention is consistent. Center staff work with each client on an individual basis, providing skills and training necessary to achieve client goals.
The open entry/open exit program offers self paced training in job search and job retention skills to both at-risk youth and adults.
The Employment Training Center:
- Assists students with job search training, resumes, cover letters, and interview skills.
- Exposes clients to post-secondary education/training programs and assists with enrollment.
- Relates basic academic skills to employer needs and expectations.
- Develops positive work ethic and workplace behaviors.
