Academic Competitiveness Grant

(U. S. Department of Education)

 

Gift Aid that does not have to be repaid.  Awarded to full-time Pell eligible students who demonstrate rigorous secondary school program of study, and show academic competitiveness.

 

$750 for the 1st academic year split over three quarters

$1,300 for the 2nd academic year split over three quarters

 

Two academic years.

Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)

(Ohio Board of Regents)

 

Gift aid that does not have to be repaid.  Full and part-time students with demonstrated financial need are eligible.  Must be an Ohio resident.

 

Up to $2,496 annually if enrolled three quarters, up to $3,328 if enrolled four quarters.

 

One academic year.

Ohio Instructional Grant  (OIG)

Gift aid that does not have to be repaid.  Full-time students with demonstrated financial need are eligible.  Must be an Ohio resident.

 

Up to $2,190 annually is enrolled three quarters, up to $2,920 if enrolled four quarters.

Federal Work Study

(U.S. Department of Education)

 

Opportunity for part-time employment with the institution.  Students with demonstrated financial need may be eligible.

 

Approximately $3,000 earned annually in the form of employment income.

 

Students may be employed throughout their education.

 

Complete the FAFSA available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov by April 1st.  An application for employment must also be completed.

 

Zane State College Foundation Scholarships

(Zane State College)

 

Institutional scholarships for students who maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher.

 

Various values dependent upon scholarship received.

 

One academic year.

 

Apply to the Zane State College Foundation.  Priority is given to students who apply by March 15th with a final consideration deadline of June 1st.  Also must complete the FAFSA available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

 

Academic Award Scholarship

Full general and instructional fees.

 

Seven consecutive quarters of attendance.

 

Apply to the Zane State College Admissions Office.  Applications are also available from high school guidance counselors. A fafsa must also be completed at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

 

Federal Stafford Loans

 

 

Opportunities for students to borrow funds to meet college expenses.   Must be enrolled at least six (6) credit hours to receive.

 

Up to $3,500 during the 1st year, and $4,500 during the 2nd year.  Independent students may have additional eligibility.

 

One academic year.

 

Complete FAFSA available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.   A counseling session will be required for all borrowers and a Master Promissory Note must be signed.

 

Federal Parent Loans

 

 

Opportunity for parents to borrow funds to assist in the payment of their child’s educational expenses.

 

Cost of attendance minus any other financial aid.

 

One academic year.
