POSITION: Instructor, Anatomy and Physiology/Biology
THE COLLEGE: Zane State College was established in 1969 and is located in Zanesville in southeastern Ohio, just 55 miles east of Columbus on I-70. The College is situated on a beautiful campus that it shares with Ohio University- Zanesville. The student headcount for credit enrollment during the fall of 2007 was approximately 2,100, with additional students enrolled in non-credit courses and business and industry training. The College offers career-oriented technical education curricula leading to applied associate degrees in 27 fields of Business, Engineering, Health, Natural Science, and Public Service. Numerous articulation agreements are in place with four-year colleges and universities for students wishing to pursue bachelor’s degrees. The College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission. It is governed locally by a Board of Trustees and operates under statewide coordination by the Ohio Board of Regents.
POSITION
DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: facilitating learning through providing learner-centered instruction including use of technology; advising students and evaluating their performance; cooperatively participating in curriculum development; assessing learning outcomes; and maintaining records. Other responsibilities include participating in professional development activities, performing community service, and contributing to College governance through active participation on various teams and committees.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess an earned master’s degree in biological sciences with coursework in anatomy and physiology or a master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 27 quarter or 18 semester hours in biological sciences from an accredited institution. Prior teaching experience, preferably in a two-year college setting, is desirable. Experience with curriculum development, using instructional technology, and distance learning is preferred. The successful candidate will be available to teach evenings and/or weekend courses as assigned.
