January 1971 - The Bengal tiger arrived. He weighed between 12 and 15 pounds. At first Monado slept at the old Bethesda hospital dormitory where the Cracker Barrel restaurant sits today.
March 17, 1971 - Monado appeared on the front page of the Times Recorder, with a green hat for St. Patrick's Day, with a student from MATI.
September 13, 1971 - There was a picture of a much larger Monado in the newspaper with a student.
September 30, 1971 - MATI dormitory was officially dedicated and Monado was there to greet visitors.
October 09, 1971 - An eleven month old Monado appeared in the paper as he visited the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine with a toothache. He weighed about 220 pounds at this time.
November 06, 1972 - Another photo of Monado, playing with a tire appeared in the paper.
August of 1973 - Monado appeared at the Muskingum County Fair and greeted visitors from his cage.
May of 1976 - Students were constructing a compound on the new campus on Newark Road for Monado. It would be about 800 sq. ft. and have running water, and a refrigerator.
June 23, 1976 - Monado would never see his new home. While his caretaker was feeding him, he forgot to latch the door. Monado got loose and was shot with a tranquilizer gun. He later died. His body was taken to the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Pathology for temporary preservation.
June 23, 1977 - Monado is on display in a glass case in College Hall at *Zane State College.
*MATC was officially renamed Zane State College on June 14, 2004
