Appalachian Outreach
The Ohio Appalachian Center for Higher Education (OACHE) seeks to create an increase in the college – going rate in the 29-counties on Appalachian Ohio. Funding by the State of Ohio allows for select colleges, universities, and K-12 schools to impart higher education information through the “Access Project.” The project’s goal is to break down stereotypes and other barriers, which often prohibit students from seeking higher educations. Grantees provide field trips to college campuses, financial aid information, and career planning. Zane State College is one of the colleges, which receive funding from OACHE.
