Consider Becoming a Tutor


Retired professionals are welcome to volunteer. Zane State students can tutor individuals or work as a classroom lab assistant

How Zane State Students Become Tutors:


To qualify you must:

  • Make an A or B in the course you wish to tutor
  • Have a recommendation from the course instructor indicated by a signature on the application form

Print Application

  • Complete additional forms in the application packet, available in The Learning Center
  • Schedule an orientation conference with  Jim Woodworth, Peer Tutoring Coordinator
  • View one hour of video tutor training lessons

How Tutoring Can Benefit Students:

  • You can earn money ($6.00 per hour) while you are here on campus
  • Continuous review of previous coursework reinforces your knowledge and skills
  • You gain valuable work experience to include on your resume
  • Helping fellow students succeed and gain self-confidence is very rewarding
  • You will develop your interpersonal and oral skills
