Sustainable Agriculture – Management Program
The Sustainable Agriculture Technology programs enable students to develop the skills necessary to attain a career or secondary income from agriculture production or management. Sustainable Agriculture Technology focuses on the production and marketing of traditional and non-traditional crops and animals using methods that are environmentally friendly, economically efficient and socially responsible.
The core coursework for the Sustainable Agriculture Management major includes classes in business management and marketing techniques. Coursework emphasizes the importance of incorporating sustainability in all parts of an agricultural enterprise, from production to sales.
Upon completion of the program, students will have the knowledge required to improve the sustainability of farm operations and enterprises throughout the region and abroad. Graduates can find employment opportunities in sustainable crop production, livestock management, farm-based education, community outreach, sales and marketing of agricultural products, farm policy and food systems development.
