Health and Wellness Success Stories


I started my Wellness Plan, a healthy diet and exercise, to lower my cholestoral level. However, there was a wonderful side benefit, a loss of 60 pounds. I will have my cholestoral level checked later this summer, but I am sure it has improved along with the weight. Now, all I have to do is maintain!

I started a Walking program with two other individuals during lunch while at work.  After six weeks the pounds started shedding off.  I then started to incorporate weight training.  That's when I went from a size 12 to a 6.  The greatest thing of all, 5 years later I have the two best friends imaginable and we continue to support each other in our endevors. 

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 5 years ago and was put on medication and had to check my blood sugar twice a day. By cutting down on starches such as potatoes and rice, eating vegetables other than corn and peas, and using sugar substitutes, I was able to get my blood sugar levels under control. For the last 3 years I have been off of medication and now control my blood sugar levels with diet and exercise. I have lost over 60 pounds and do not have to check my blood sugar every day.
