Willett-Pratt Training Center
The Training Center provides a myriad of training and educational opportunities for the community and the region. The Training Center is a collaborative partnership between several economic development groups, human services agencies, area businesses and education organizations and reserves space for use by Detroit Diesel, Guernsey County Job and Family services and Ohio University Zanesville. Services Offered Credit Training With a 35,000 square foot facility, the Training Center offers many college services in addition to customized training and workforce development opportunities. Students may complete an application, take the accuplacer test, receive information on financial aid, and schedule classes at the Training Center as well as the Zanesville Campus. Modern computer labs and interactive video classrooms allow for the state of the art delivery of curriculum and courses. The Learning Resource Center offers proctored testing, math tutoring, resource materials, and computer access to our students. A variety of Zane State College credit classes are offered at the Training Center. All of the courses required for the following degrees and/or certificates are available at the Training Center: Medical Assisting Associate Degree Welding Training Modules/One Year Certificate Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Computerized Machine Tooling Non-Credit Training Business and Industry Training offered through the Training Center helps meet the ever-changing needs of companies. Training Center staff work with local businesses to address their needs and concerns through offering customized training. The Training Center is a catalyst for economic and industrial growth as well as additional employment opportunities in the area. Companies benefit from customized training and achieve their goals by having a skilled workforce that performs optimally and can compete globally. Training sessions may be offered at the employer’s site, or at our Cambridge or Zanesville locations and grant funds may be available to offset training costs. The Community Education program is part of our non-credit services. A variety of classes are offered for personal development and enrichment. One of our most popular offerings are cooking courses instructed by our own Chef Marco Adornetto. The Small Business Development Center is also part of our non-credit family. SBDC services are available to entrepreneurs who have or would like to start their own small business.
