CPR and First Aid at Zane State College

Zane State College offers several options for CPR and First Aid certification.

Healthcare Provider CPR Training

Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.

HeartSaver CPR Training

HeartSaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA's research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students' learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

 

First Aid Training

HeartSaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements

Healthcare Provider CPR Skills Renewal Sessions

Zane State College is adding skills renewal  sessions for healthcare professionals who are updating their certification and have successfully completed the self-directed AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1 Course.

Those needing to prove hands-on skills to fulfill the renewal requirements (Part II & III) must successfully complete the online session, print/provide proof of passing, and schedule a skills renewal session within two months. This option saves the healthcare provider at least one hour of time and $13 in fees.
