Your résumé is often your first impression with an employer — make every line earn its place.

• Keep it to one page and lead with your strongest, most recent experience.
• Start each bullet with an action verb and include a concrete result where you can (“reduced wait times by 20%”).
• Tailor it to each posting — mirror the key words from the job description.
• Include relevant coursework, labs, clinicals, and hands-on projects from your program.
• Have someone else proofread it — then proofread it again.

A strong cover letter connects your story to their opening in three short paragraphs:

• Open: name the position and say why this employer interests you specifically.
• Connect: match two or three of your experiences to what the posting asks for.
• Close: thank them and say how to reach you — then keep it to one page.

Interviews reward preparation more than improvisation:

• Research the organization — know what they do and one recent thing about them.
• Practice answers aloud using the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result.
• Prepare two or three questions to ask them — interviews go both ways.
• Dress one step above the workplace norm, arrive 10 minutes early, and send a thank-you note within 24 hours.
