External/Community Scholarships

Zane State College provides information on community scholarships upon receiving requests from external organizations. However, please note that the College is not affiliated with these scholarships and cannot endorse them. Additional scholarships not provided by Zane State College. Application links will be updated when they become available:

Florence Allen Scholarship Program
Application open February 21 to April 30.
This scholarship was established to honor Judge Florence Ellinwood Allen, the first woman on the Ohio Supreme Court. Scholarships will range from $500 to $1,000.

The Columbus Foundation (Deadlines vary)
The Columbus Foundation’s General Scholarship Application is the best way for high school and college students to apply to more than 100 scholarships listed in The Columbus Foundation’s online scholarship directory.

The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund
Application closes May 1, 2024
This scholarship is for students who reside in the 30-county COAD service area, reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, have obtained a high school diploma or GED, and can show proof of acceptance to an accredited higher education institution.

Genesis HealthCare Foundation
Application typically opens in April and closes in early June.
Each year the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving youth in in Muskingum, Perry, Guernsey, Coshocton, Noble and Morgan counties pursuing a degree in health care.

Guernsey County Township Association Scholarship
Application must be postmarked by April 1, 2024
This scholarship is for students who reside in Guernsey County and have or will graduate from a Guernsey County high school.

Ruth M. Hughes Educational Trust Scholarship
Application closes May 1
This scholarship is for Muskingum County residents attending accredited institutions, including colleges, universities, vocational, technical, or postgraduate institutions as a full-time student. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and must submit a FAFSA EFC document. Applicant must submit a short autobiography including information about family, community involvement, and what you hope to do in the future.

Christopher R. Kuhn Memorial Scholarship
Application closes May 1, 2024
Awarded to Buckeye Trail, Cambridge, John Glenn, and Meadowbrook grads pursuing a degree related to the field of oncology (Health Information Management, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory).

Muskingum County Community Foundation (Deadlines vary)
MCCF’s Scholarship Central Scholarship may be based on academic performance, financial need, religious affiliation, minority status, heritage, community affiliations, or a unique set of criteria that is important to the organization providing funds.


Nuts, Bolts, & Thingamajigs Scholarship
Application closes March 31. 
These scholarships are for full-time students enrolled in or entering a certificate or degree program that leads to a manufacturing career that has a 2.5 GPA for trade/community or technical colleges or 3.0 GPA for universities.

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship
Application open in January and closes on March 29 
This scholarship is for students who are residents of Ohio with a career goal in the natural gas or related energy field with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) Scholarship
Application opens February 1 and closes on March 1. 
This scholarship is for students who are residents of Ohio with a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry with a 2.5 or higher GPA.

SME Education Foundation
Application opens November 1 and closes February 1. 
For students pursuing associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degrees in manufacturing, engineering, or related fields with a 2.0 or higher GPA. By submitting one application, you will be considered for every scholarship for which you are eligible. Awards range from $2,500-$20,000. Nearly $1 million was awarded in 2023.

The Lariat Future Innovators Foundation STEM Scholarship
Application closes June 15, 2024.
This scholarship is for students ages 18-24 who are pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math, with awards ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. Students must come from a small town with a population of less than 25,000 people and have a family household income of $55,000 or less. Students should show strong performance in math and science (3.5 GPA or above, AP courses, mostly A grades.
