Health Information Management – Coding and Reimbursement

In the world of healthcare payments, Health Information Technicians are critical team members who learn medical, information management, business applications, and computer technology to ensure that they accurately report your health information. Zane State’s Health Information Management program provides the education and skills you need to succeed in this in-demand field. This field is one of the fastest growing occupations throughout Ohio.

This degree is also conveniently completely online. No need to leave your home for college courses; simply log onto your computer and obtain the information you need to know for your courses in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, software, and more. Your faculty are individuals who have worked in this field and are eager to teach you what you need to know to be successful in this career.

Program Outcome on Graduate Satisfaction

  • Each year graduates are requested to complete a survey to rate their overall experience of the HIMT program at Zane State College. Results from the 2017 survey indicate 100% agreement that the program helped graduates acquire the skills and knowledge to perform as a Health Information Technology Professional and that their overall academic experience met or exceeded their expectations.

 Program Outcome on Employer Satisfaction

  • Each year employers are requested to complete a survey regarding the Zane State College HIMT graduates they hire. Results of the 2017 survey indicate 100% agreement that our graduates possess the technical skills and knowledge to perform the duties they were hired for in the health information management work environment.

 Program Outcome on Graduate Placement Rate

    • Our program prepares students for a variety of healthcare careers utilizing health information management knowledge and skills. Recent graduate survey results reflect 89% of Zane State College HIMT graduates were employed in healthcare related positions.
