Dear Students,

As we wind down towards the weekend, I am reflecting on how the sounds and sights of springtime mean more to me now than before. The sunshine, listening to the birds, and breathing in the fresh air keep me grateful and grounded during these trying times.

This weekend, I encourage each of you to step outside and take time to relax. Laugh. Have some fun! Please continue to be safe by practicing physical distancing as you unwind and take a mental break from the whirlwind.

Following the Governor’s latest announcements, we are delaying the reopening of all Zane State College buildings until the Governor’s current mandate expires on April 30, 2020. This means as soon as Monday, May 4, 2020, that the College buildings may reopen (finals week):
Offices may resume operations on campus with minimal staffing levels;
However, all coursework, including all on-campus labs, will continue to be taught using remote-learning;
Please continue to check your email and Blackboard for messaging from your faculty with further instructions;
If you are experiencing issues with internet access at home, please let your faculty know. If you need additional technology-related assistance or have questions, contact Zane State College’s Technology Solutions Center at techelp@zanestate.edu.

I ask that you also please talk with your faculty and Success Coaches about your summer plans. Many summer courses have transitioned to online and remote formats and are available to view on My ZSC. A summer catalog is also being mailed to your home in mid-April. Use some of your downtime to focus on your academic goals and keep looking toward the future!

Be well,

Dr. Brown
