You are Invited to The Bridges in Careers in Industry
This opportunity is for the 2018-19 academic year for 15 students. Schools invited include: Rolling Hills, Shenandoah, Caldwell, Buckeye Trail, and Cambridge.

Zane State College and Rolling Hills High School invite your college-bound 2018-19 juniors to participate in an exclusive, two-year college and career readiness pathway. The Bridges to Careers in Industry is ideal for those who want a career in industrial maintenance or engineering technology. This opportunity is offered to students who do not yet meet readiness requirements for College Credit Plus.

About Bridges to Industry
This program seeks to fill the skills gap between job applicants with a vocational high school certificate and students with a four-year degree. The goal is to satisfy the need for Industrial Maintenance technicians in Guernsey and Noble counties.

Student Qualifications
Applicants should be sophomores who do not reach college readiness thresholds, but have at least a 3.0 in a college prep curriculum and be recommended by an advisor. Applicants should have a firm goal of entering an engineering industry after graduation.

Learning Opportunities
Students will attend their high school full time during their junior year. First semester, they will take Zane State College remedial courses taught by their high school teachers. These courses will qualify them for second semester. During second semester, students will be considered college ready and will enroll in CCP classes at their high school.

Students will spend the first half of the day at their high school enrolled in one CCP class each semester. Students will attend Zane State College Cambridge Campus from 12 – 3 p.m. enrolled in Industrial Systems Engineering Technology courses.

After Graduation
After graduating high school, students will have the opportunity to enroll in ZSC full time and complete a 2 year degree after one year of full time enrollment. Students will be encouraged to apply for one of the many scholarship opportunities for ZSC students.
