The Oil & Gas Engineering Technology program at Zane State College emphasizes the basic science and technology of oil and natural gas exploration, development, and distribution.  The completion of the Oil & Gas Engineering Technology program leads to a career in oil and natural gas exploration, drilling, completion, production, natural gas compression, distribution, and related field services.  An emphasis is placed on the development of the oil and natural gas resources in Ohio and the surrounding Appalachian Basin including the application of the best available technology utilized in the traditional oil and gas formations as well as those applied to the Marcellus and Utica Shales.

Students will develop an awareness of the oil and natural gas industry; establish the basic knowledge and skills that are necessary for developing the fundamentals of the scientific and engineering technology needed in the oil and natural gas industry along with the specific technical knowledge and skills that are required to obtain careers in the Oil and Gas Engineering Technology.
