If accepted into the Physical Therapist Assistant program you will take part in challenging classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences to gain the knowledge necessary to function as an integral, critical thinking member of a rehabilitation team.
To practice in the state of Ohio, you must graduate from our five-semester program as well as take and pass both the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and the Ohio Jurisprudence Exam. Upon licensure you will you work under the supervision and direction of a physical therapist (PT).
You will find employment opportunities as a PTA in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, home health, outpatient and sports clinics, and schools. Your versatile skill set will serve you well across many treatment settings and age ranges.
You may only join the Physical Therapist Assistant program via a selective admissions process. You must complete observation with a licensed PT or PTA and demonstrate readiness for anatomy & physiology, college-level math, and English.
