Criminal Justice and Peace Officer Academy Program Director
I use the last few minutes of class sessions to assist students with course scheduling each semester. I have found this model works best because students are present and already thinking about academics and do not have to schedule another time to meet for an advising session. I show them the online course catalog offerings and explain the benefits of taking classes during the summer term, which relieves them from their often busy fall and spring course loads. Most of the available courses in the summer are online, so it typically does not interfere with traditional summer experiences, such as vacations.
