Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology Program

Growing up, were you fascinated with disassembling every toy to see how it worked? Removing the shell to look inside and see how it was powered and why it worked so well. That’s called a natural thirst for knowing how things work. The combination of physics and engineering to develop integrated systems is the core of Electromechanical Engineering Technology. 

Combining the mechanical elements with electric power and harnessing it all in a computer to control robotics, build a hybrid car, streamline manufacturing processes, the list could go on and on. You will analyze blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to make the machine come to life in aerospace or at a production site and watch as it improves efficiencies. There is so much that Electromechanical technicians can do, especially when working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers. They were also kids who dreamed of building the toys that sparked their minds. In short, Electromechanical technicians combine mechanical technology knowledge with electrical and electronic circuits knowledge. Operating, testing, and maintaining automated, robotic, or electromechanical equipment.

Electro-Mechanical technicians work closely with electrical engineers and mechanical engineers. They work in many industrial environments, including energy, plastics, computer and communications equipment manufacturing, and aerospace. They often work both at production sites and in offices.
