Water Technician I & Water Technician II Certificates

Water Technician Certificate

Did you know Zane State College offers NEW Water Technician certificates? Designed for busy working adults, coursework takes only one year, with classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Level I Water Technician Certificate:

  • Developed for the incumbent worker wanting to upskill within this industry or be eligible for other positions within the business.
  • Prepares learners for the Level I Wastewater and Drinking Water certification exams.
  • Includes the OSHA 30-hour credential and the Department of Transportation’s Transportation of Hazardous Materials credential within this certificate program.

The Level II Water Operator Certificate:

  • Developed for learners seeking positions within the growing manufacturing, technology, semiconductor industries, industrial sites, and manufacturing plants.
  • Includes the HAZWOPER certification and gain beginner-level experience with GIS software, among other essential skills.

Zane State College is working towards becoming a test site for the Level I Wastewater and Drinking Water operator license exams. Our goal is to offer other levels of each designation in the future. Upon completing the year-long certificate program, your employees will earn the OSHA general industry safety (OSHA 30) certification with confidence and preparation to take the Ohio EPA Class 1 Operator tests for Drinking Water and Wastewater (two separate credentials).
